Things I Like: Watsky.

I like rap.  Now when you look at me, I know I don't really look like the type.  But let's be honest, there are quite a lot of youngish caucasian girls proclaiming themselves as Gambino connoisseurs.  (I can recite Lights Turned On disgustingly flawlessly.)  I feel like Childish Gambino and Watsky are kindred spirits.  They're by no means the same.  But they're a lot more akin to one another than trying to put them next to Jay-Z or The Game (also very, very good).

I've really only been listening to Watsky since the beginning of the year, but I remember rumblings of him stealing the show at Vidcon.  Specifically with a particular stage dive.  But he's become my jam and I even have tickets to see him when he comes to London on his tour.  Excite.  So in celebration of his new album, Cardboard Castles, which drops in a matter of hours, I thought I'd share some of my favorites.  By the way, for a limited time you can listen to the entire new album for free.

  1. Yes, it is rather unexpected.
But then again... I've seen some pretty tame looking human beings getting into hardcore metal, screamo and the likes. So... not that unexpected, all things considered.

Personally, I just..don't get rap. I do have this irrational (?) admiration for people who can recite super difficult raps though.
    like, that's just... sick man , y'know.
lol. terrible terrible, I shouldn't have attempted to sound hip.

That Watsky album cover - I would never have guessed Watsky was a rapper from that. It's pretty cute.
